Evil Twin

srm: 18
This blood-red ale may not be what you might expect from a malty and hoppy craft beer. Evil Twin has a rich malt character, without being overly sweet. It has a huge hop character, without being overly bitter. It is a great example of a bold, rich, balanced craft beer, without being heavy and hard to drink in quantity. Our Evil Twin is only bad because it is too good to resist.

Evil Cousin

Evil Cousin is Heretic's take on a West coast imperial IPA. This beer is a bold, in-your-face hop monster. It has a light, easy drinking malt character that allows the hops to stand out. The hop character in this beer is intentionally on the dank side; big, sticky, and aggressive. This beer is for those of you who can't get enough hops. Join us on the dank side.

Chocolate Hazelnut Porter (CHP)

Chocolate Hazelnut Porter, or CHP as we call it, is a dessert in a glass. It is a rich, robust porter bursting with luscious chocolate and hazelnut. Notes of coffee and caramel round out this delicious treat.

Shallow Grave

abv: 7%
ibu: 33
srm: 33
Shallow Grave Porter is dark as night, perfect for a cool evening out in the woods. This is a big, dark ale with a complex and rich chocolate and caramel malt character followed by a touch of warmth and light malt sweetness, leaving you ready for more after each shovelful. You will love this so much you won’t have time to dig a six-footer, so make it a Shallow Grave.

We’re sure you’ll dig it.

Torment

This 10% Belgian-style dark ale is the dark counterpart to Worry. Torment is a rich beer with lots of caramel, malt, dark fruit, and Belgian candi sugar notes. The luscious fruity character is full of caramel apples, candied pears, and chocolate covered oranges.

Gramarye (GRAM-uh-ree)

Gramarye is the practice of learning magic. For thousands of years, people have used a grimoire (book of magic) to cast spells and summon spirits. Of course, magic fell out of favor over the centuries, the same as brewing with rye. Interest in magic seems to be on the upswing these days and so is the interest in brewing with rye. A coincidence? This is our take on a session pale ale made with a dose of rye malt to give it that luscious feel and snappy finish. We think it is magical.

Evil3

Mitch, Tasty and Jamil went old school in this triple IPA, using a darker crystal malt; like back in the day. Paired up with citrusy Amarillo and mellony Australian Summer hops, we've got a great balance of malt and bitterness to delight your pallet.

Primo Diablo

Primo Diablo (Devil Cousin) will blow your taste buds away. We take our big, sticky double IPA and infuse it with loads of habanero chili peppers. Their heat, citrusy flavor and floral aroma compliment the bold hops beautifully in this craft beer that isn't for the faint of heat (or heart).

Tartuffe

A tartuffe (tar-TOOF) is a hypocrite who feigns religious virtue. Heretic's Tartuffe is our take on a Berliner Weisse-style ale. Our head brewer has a thing for this beer style. He loves the tart, refreshing character that comes from using lots of wheat malt and a multi-day sour mash. Try it by itself or mit schuss, the traditional German addition of raspberry or woodruff syrup. Either way, enjoying life is a true virtue.

Tafelbully

Tafelbully (TAH-full bully) is available once again! This limited release, Belgian-inspired table beer is based on a recipe from our friend Matt Staley. We think 2014 is the best batch yet. It has a nice upfront Brettanomyces character, a cracker like pilsner malt note, a crisp finish, and a subtle citrus/pine Amarillo hop note in the background. This year we bumped it up to 5.4%, so it is a little bigger than last time, but still so easily drinkable. It takes about 8 months to brew this beer, which is why it is only available for a short time and limited quantities. Get some before it is gone! (Stored at cellar temperatures, this beer will continue to develop more Brettanomyces character and can be saved for years.)

Worry

This golden blond Belgian-style ale is a symphony of bold and delicate wrapped into one. We took our 9.8% Belgian-style golden ale and aged it in Grgich Hill Estate Chardonnay barrels. It has a gentle warming with a light alcohol sweetness and a tantalizing fruity character full of apples, pears, and oranges. The barrel aging give it a great Chardonnay character and a dry finish.

Miscreant

A beer not for the faint of heart. If you are not a beer geek passionate about craft beer, then this one may not be for you. Similar to the sour beers of Flanders, Miscreant is a beer for those with a love of and a palate for complex beers. Dark, tart, malty, with a balancing sweetness. This beer utilizes a complex culture of yeast, other organisms, and oak aging to obtain its rich complexity. With each sip you will find notes of tart cherries, vanilla, chocolate, and more.

Petit Rouge

Go ahead, hold it up to the light. Super cool color, right? That is all from the hibiscus flowers. We brew a sessionable Belgian blonde ale and then abuse it with an insane amount of hibiscus. It gives the beer that red color and a wonderful tart cranberry/pomegranate fruitiness. Wow, who would have thought flowers in beer would be so awesome.

What is better than a big, rich, malty, roasty Imperial Stout? Imperial Stout aged in bourbon barrels for six months. Barrel aging not only adds vanilla, toast, bourbon, and other flavors, it mellows the beer, making it richer, smoother and even more delicious.

Evil Empire

Big, rich, malty, roasty, complex. These deep and intense flavors of coffee, chocolate, caramel, and dark fruit are almost all malt driven. It takes a huge amount of malt to brew this beer and we only get about 2/3 of our normal yield. It makes for a challenging brew day too, but we think you are worth it.

Dead Weight

abv: 10.5%
ibu: 44
srm: 12
A rich, full, malty English style barleywine. We made Dead Weight by cramming as much pale ale and British crystal malt as the mash tun would hold, then we added a bunch of English Kent Goldings hops to balance the beer and add delicate hop notes. It is rich, it is big, and it is tasty.
